On the morning of the first day of Eid al-Fitr, the residents of Omdurman did not feel the joy of the holiday. Instead, they faced attacks from the Rapid Support Forces militia through artillery shelling on some neighborhoods in the city. Even Tuti Island was not spared from these attacks, as the militia stormed mosques during Eid prayers and opened fire on worshippers, resulting in injuries.

The militia did not stop there. They also shelled some residential neighborhoods in the eastern part of Khartoum, resulting in the deaths of more than ten civilians and injuring many others severely. This was an attempt to displace the population and prevent any gatherings.

The Sudanese Human Rights Observatory urges the international community to intervene and address the violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia. It calls for pressure to change their behavior and demands their immediate classification as terrorist groups. Additionally, it calls for holding those responsible for these crimes accountable and holding them responsible for these heinous acts.
