As Sudanese citizens embrace the joyous atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr, the RSF Militia's onslaught of violence persists, staining the festive season with bloodshed.
Earlier today, amidst the Eid celebrations, the RSF militia launched a brutal assault on the village of Goz Abu Ruf in the northeastern region of Sennar state, depriving citizens of their right to perform Eid prayers. Tragically, ten innocent lives were lost in what should have been a day of celebration and unity.
The Sudanese Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) vehemently condemns these barbaric attacks, which have sadly become all too common occurrences across Sudan.
The SOHR holds the leadership of this militia fully accountable for their reprehensible actions. We urgently implore the Secretary-General of the United Nations to initiate a thorough investigation into these grave violations and ensure that those responsible are held to account for their crimes.
